AN INTRODUCTION TO: ANTIPODES

30th May 2017 - Beauty

When it comes to natural skincare, Antipodes is up there on the list of my favourite brands. In fact Antipodes was the host of one of my very first blogger events when I first started blogging! What’s great about this brand is that they are one of the few certified organic skincare producers in the world, making them a green beauty brand that we can trust. The other week, I was lucky enough to receive a package containing a top-up of some of my most-loved Antipodes products, so I thought I’d put together a post to tell you a little bit more about some of my favourite beauty and skincare items from the collection in case you were interested in trying any out.

Antipodes Manuka Honey Mask
If you’re into face masks as much as I am then you just HAVE to try this Antipodes Manuka Honey Mask. Thanks to the manuka honey within the formula, this mask is deeply moisturising which makes it perfect for someone like me who suffers from dry and sensitive skin. Alongside the hydrating manuka honey is a concoction of vitamin E and avocado oil to nourish, as well as mandarin oil to brighten the complexion. To apply this mask I just spread an even layer over my face and leave it for 15-30 minutes (sometimes longer if my skin is feeling particularly dry) before rinsing it off with warm water. Once I’ve removed the mask my skin feels instantly softer and more supple. This stuff is sooooo dreamy! I especially like to use it if I’m having a few breakouts in areas where my skin is dry.

Antipodes Skin-Brightening Cleanser
Call me crazy but cleansing my skin at the end of the day is something that I really enjoy doing! There’s something about removing the ‘day’ from my face that makes me feel so calm and relaxed. The Antipodes Juliet Skin-Brightening Cleanser is a product that makes my routine even more of an enjoyable experience. Much like many of the other skincare products in the Antipodes range, this high-performance gel cleanser contains manuka honey and grape oil which both have natural antibacterial powers. To use this cleanser I just massage some of the product onto my wet skin before massaging it into my face and neck in upward strokes. It smells like strawberries (love!) and it has a slight foam to it. Once that step is complete I just rinse it off using a soft cloth soaked in warm water. This cleanser leaves my skin feeling super clean and refreshed without drying it out.

Antipodes Manuka Honey Eye Cream
If you’re on the market for a heavy duty eye cream then PLEASE make it your mission to get your hands on the gorgeous Manuka Honey Skin-Brightening Eye Cream. Manuka honey is a natural anti-inflammatory so its great at getting rid of any puffiness under the eyes and making you look more awake and refreshed. The manuka honey is also blended with a luxurious mix of persian silk flower, grape seeds and kiwi which all help to nourish and brighten the skin.

Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream
As well as lusting over the eye cream, I’m also in love with the Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream. I love using a richer cream as part of my evening routine and this stuff is a dream come true. The formula is a mix of nourishing avocado pear oil, moisturising manuka honey and purifying sandalwood along with a whole heap of skin-restoring vitamins and antioxidants. I like to apply the Avocado Pear cream all over my face and neck a few hours before I head up to bed. Whenever I use this cream I’m guaranteed to wake up with super soft skin. I’ve used it for years and I still love it!

Antipodes Skin Brightening & Tone Correcting Serum
I love using serums and the Antipodes Skin Brightening & Tone Correcting Serum is one that has stood the test of time in my routine. This serum helps to target pigmentation so its great at reducing the appearance of redness and scars, it also helps to brighten your complexion and restore an even tone. I’ve heard that this serum is particularly great for acne prone and problematic skin, so definitely give this a go if you suffer with either of those things. I love using this serum because it’s so lightweight but so hydrating at the same time. Again…it smells like strawberries!

Antipodes Lipsticks
Back in April I filmed a pink-themed makeup tutorial for my channel and featured one of the beautiful Antipodes lipsticks as my lip product. So many of you commented on how much you loved the lipstick and how much you adored the colour, so I thought I’d tell you a little bit more about these stunning lipsticks. Something that you might notice about these lipsticks is that the shape of the bullet is so unique! At first I was a little nervous to use one since I wasn’t sure how precise I could get the application, but actually the rounded bullet makes it super easy and stress-free to apply. What I love the most about these lipsticks is that they’re incredibly moisturising and feel so comfortable on my lips but they’re also kind of matte!

In my pink-themed makeup tutorial I added a slick of Antipodes lipstick in the colour ‘Dragon Fruit Pink’ which is the most beautiful, vibrant pink that I’ve ever laid my eyes on! For more of an every-day look I’ve been rocking the shade ‘Dusky Sound Pink’ which is exactly the kind of rose-pink tone that I LOVE, but I’ve also been wearing ‘Boom Rock Bronze’ every now and again which is a darker, slightly bronzer take on an everyday nude. It’s hard for me to pick a favourite colour because I’m literally in love with every single one of the shades available. You have to try these lipsticks out if you’re a lipstick junkie like me…they’re unlike anything else I’ve tried!

Antipodes Translucent Powder
As well as receiving a selection of the gorgeous Antipodes lipsticks, I was also lucky enough to get my hands on one of the Antipodes Translucent Powder. You guys know that I hate the feeling of wearing heavy makeup and this powder is so perfect because it is so lightweight and silky that it hardly feels like I have any product on my face at all. Translucent powders are great for setting your makeup and keeping any unwanted shine at bay, this Antipodes powder does a wonderful job at making sure that my base stays looking flawless all day long. To apply my powder I just sweep my Antipodes Kabuki Brush into the product, making sure to tap off any excess before applying. The powder applies so seamlessly and glides over any unwanted blemishes for an even, glowy finish. Love it!

Antipodes Hand & Body Cream
I really love their hand and body creams. My favourite is the one in the pink tube because it smells so summery and is hydrating without being greasy. They’re great for travelling and perfect if you have sensitive skin but also want something a bit more fragrant!

So those are a few of the products that I’ve acquired from Antipodes lately. If you’re new to the brand definitely make sure you try some of the products that I’ve mentioned.
