Over the past few months I’ve had so many comments from you guys about how ‘glowy’ my skin has been looking recently! Making time to take good care of my skin helps my complexion to look glowy and radiant but a lot of that luminosity is also down to the products that I wear as the base of makeup looks. For this post I thought I’d share with you some of the products that I’ve been reaching for recently to achieve my glowy look. So let’s glow! (heehee)

In my opinion, the key to a glowing complexion is all about using the right products to prime and prep your skin. The Lancôme ‘La Base Pro’ Hydra Glow Primer is one of my all time fave primers and is my go-to on days when I fancy rocking a dewier look. This stuff not only creates a great base for my makeup, it also helps to brighten my skin and give it a natural look of radiance. The formula contains pearl pigments and rose essence (one of my favourite ingredients/scents) which help to give your skin a boost of hydration throughout the day. Whenever I use this stuff I can almost guarantee that someone will comment on how glowy my makeup looks.

Another one of my go-to primers is the Chanel ‘Le Blanc De Chanel Illuminating Base’. This stuff is uhhhhmazing!! I’m a huge fan girl when it comes to Chanel beauty products and this base doesn’t disappoint. The great thing about this stuff is that the glow is super subtle, but very effective. All I do is warm up a pea size amount of product between my fingers before massaging it onto my skin. Definitely one to try!

Most of you will probably know by now that I’m in love with all things By Terry. I love By Terry products because they’re not only beautiful to look at, they do beautiful things to my face too! The By Terry range of ‘Cellularose Brightening CC Lumi-Serums are absolutely drop dead GORGEOUS! If you’re wondering exactly what it is that the Lumi-Serum does, its basically a super silky serum which helps to colour correct your complexion while giving your skin a natural-looking luminosity. Sometimes I like to mix a teeny weeny drop of this serum into my foundation to give it a boost of radiance but you can also wear it alone to neutralise redness and disguise any dark spots. The Cellularose Lumi-Serums come in several different shades which are designed to combat different problem areas of the skin. ‘Immaculate Light’ works well to control blotchiness and enhance radiance for porcelain complexions, ‘Rose Elixir’ neutralises washed out ashy tones with its pink particles, ‘Apricot Glow’ is a shade designed specifically for fair skin tones and ‘Sunny Flash’ works well to even out darker complexions. Amazing stuff!

The Tatcha ‘Luminous Dewy Skin Mist is a fan favourite between beauty lovers, bloggers and editors alike. I was actually introduced to this mist by my good friend and Beauty Editor at Glamour Magazine, Alex Steinherr and its been a permanent fixture in my makeup bag ever since! There’s no particular way that you should use this product, I just give my skin a lil spritz as and when I feel like I need a boost of hydration. Sometimes I like to spray this mist onto my bare skin before applying any makeup, it just helps to lock some moisture into my face before I start my day, it also gives my complexion a gorgeous, dewy glow. Love it!

The Loreal ‘Lumi Magique Primer’ is a high street base product that lives up to the department store offerings. The formula of this stuff is super lightweight so it sits nicely under your makeup without feeling heavy or greasy. Its lovely and silky and applies with ease, giving the skin a surge of glow! I also like to add a bit of this on the tops of my cheekbones after I finish the rest of my makeup.

Onto glowy foundations now and I just HAVE to mention one of my all time favourite base products from Lancôme which is the Lancôme ‘Miracle Cushion Foundation. If you haven’t tried any of Lancôme’s cushion products (yes they do cushion blushes too!) then I urge you to go out and give them a try right this second. I love this cushion foundation because its so incredibly lightweight (you might have noticed by now that I’m not into full-coverage foundations) and it helps to even out my skin tone without looking cakey or thick. To apply it I lightly press my beauty blender cushion applicator into the product before bouncing onto my skin and blending it out. Once applied, my skin looks instantly glowy. This is a must-have, trust me.

The Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow is another of my go-to base products for glowing skin. I pretty much adore every single product from the Charlotte Tilbury collection but for me, this stuff really takes the cake. It’s got a subtle golden hue to it which illuminates your complexion makes you look like you’ve spent an afternoon at the beach. Perfect!

Although the ‘Maestro Glow Foundation’ by Giorgio Armani might look a little daunting, trust me when I say that this stuff is essential if you’re chasing that glow. The Maestro Glow is actually a fluid texture  due to the fact that the formula contains a high concentration of oils. You’d be forgiven for thinking that using this foundation might make your skin look and feel quite oily, but actually the formula helps the product to glide easily onto the face and the oils dry off almost immediately. This is the most glow-inducing foundation I’ve ever tried (I’m convinced this stuff is magic).

The Giorgio Armani ‘Fluid Sheer Illuminator is my go-to highlighter right now, I just can’t get enough! The Fluid Sheer is a multitasking illuminator and perfecter which helps to give my makeup look a boost of radiance. The great thing about this Illuminator is that you can use it as an eyeshadow, blush, bronzer or highlighter and its sheer formula means that the end result is super subtle and natural-looking. I like to dab some of this product onto the tops of my cheekbones and down the length of my nose, but you can really use this baby wherever you like! The Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer is totally versatile and that’s probably what I love the most about it. There are LOADS of shades so definitely check them out.

If you’re looking for an illuminating fluid that’s the definition of dreamy, then the Chanel ‘Soleil Tan De Chanel Illuminating Fluid’ is the one for you. Much like the Giorgio Armani illuminator, the Chanel Illuminating Fluid is absolute goals. It’s pretty much a jar of liquid gold and feels just as luxurious to apply you would assume. I love this stuff because it’s SO subtle and you all know that natural-looking makeup is my jam. This illuminator gives my skin a beautiful shimmer and a gorgeous, warm glow. I like to save this stuff for the warmer months because the summer sun really makes this illuminator shine. You need this in your life!

So those are just a few of my favourite base products for glowing skin! I’d love to know if you’ve used any of the items that I’ve mentioned or if you have any recommendations of products that I should try! I’m always chasing that glow.
