28th Jun 2017 - Style

Last month I put together a post all about some of my favourite outfits that I wore during the month of May. So many of you guys told me that you loved that post and that you wanted me to make it a monthly thing, so here I am putting together a break down of my favourite outfits from June! Now that summer is finally here, I’ve been really enjoying putting my outfits together and trying out different combinations, I feel like the warm weather really allows me to get creative and have fun with what I wear. Not only that, but I have so much fun putting these posts together and reflecting on my outfits from the past months. I hope you guys enjoy reading this post as much as I’ve enjoyed building it!

First up I just have to talk about this gorgeous patchwork denim skirt because I think this baby is one of my favourite pieces that I own right now! What I love about denim skirts is that they’re so timeless and you can literally wear them year after year and they will never go out of style. This one is great because the patchwork detail makes it a little more interesting than your average blue denim number and makes it look slightly more dressy. You guys know that I like to keep things simple, so I paired my skirt with the comfiest t-shirt I own! I got this t-shirt from Net-A-Porter and it’s actually a re-worked piece in collaboration with the brand ‘Hanes’. This one is quite expensive for a basic item (but I felt like I could justify it seeing as it has such a cool story behind it!) but I’ve seen so many cheaper alternatives on sites like ASOS and H&M which look just as comfortable and cool. As for my accessories, I had so many comments from you guys asking where I got this beautiful string bag from! I actually picked this bag up while Aslan and I were in Japan and it cost me next to nothing. It’s literally just a market bag that you’re supposed to put your groceries in! Anyway, I love it and by the sounds of it, you guys do too!

I wore this bubblegum pink dress while Aslan and I were on a whistle stop trip to the beautiful city of Milan. We had quite a fancy event to go to so I knew I wanted to wear something that made me feel a little bit special and this amazing dress from Topshop was just the ticket! The one I wore is almost sold out but this blazer dress is the same colour and dare I say I like it better!? I’m such a sucker for a beautiful pink, so I decided to go a little crazy and rock a vibrant bubblegum pink lip to match. You might have noticed that I’m a liiiiiiittle bit obsessed with Linda Rodin’s cosmetic collection and her ‘Winks’ lipstick matched my dress perfectly so of course I had to add a slick to my lips. To tie the whole thing together I added my amazing metal clutch bag from & Other Stories and slipped on a pair of classic nude Saint Laurent sandals. If you’re wondering how I got my hair to look so voluminous, I used my new GHD curling wand along with a TON of texturising spray!

You might have noticed that I’ve been seriously obsessed with wearing caps lately. I used to steal Aslan’s caps literally 24/7 but I felt kinda bad depriving him of his fave hats so I’ve decided to start my own collection! I’m totally into pastel colours so as soon as I spotted this super cute suede number on the ASOS site I just had to have it! I don’t know about you but I hate faffing about with my hair and makeup on the weekends so I love being able to throw a cap on to avoid getting my curling wand out! I’ve also been super into denim pinafores and ever since I found this washed black one from ASOS I’ve been wearing it pretty much non stop. I’m all about easy, comfortable outfits on the weekends, so pinafores are great because I can literally throw one over my comfiest t-shirt and look put together. Another item that I’ve been wearing to death recently is my trusty pair of low top black Converse. I forgot how much of a Converse girl I was but ever since I rediscovered them I’ve been completely in love!

The t-shirt-under-dress-look is a trend that I’ve been totally obsessed with over the past few months. Since I’ve been loving that vibe so much I decided to rock that combo whilst in Shanghai with my Lancôme fam. Shanghai is such an amazing city, but your girl (and my hair!!) was not a fan of the 90% humidity! Luckily this super cute crochet dress from Bershka kept me nice and cool despite the heat. On its own, I feel like this dress wouldn’t really be my style, but paired over the top of my favourite Hanes t-shirt helped to give it slightly more of a casual look. For a pop of colour I decided to slip on these amazing sequin sandals from Mango which just happened to match the lining of my Mansur Gavriel bucket bag perfectly!

If you’ve read my ‘A Thing For Yellow’ blog post, you’ll know that lately I’ve been super into all things bright and sunny. This beautiful vibrant shoulder bag by Givenchy was finally the answer to my yellow bag prayers! Since this bag is such a statement piece I decided to tone things down a little by pairing it with a simple, tailored white shirt and a pair of my favourite Topshop jeans. That being said, I couldn’t resist throwing on my super glitzy sequin sandals to match. It’s fair to say I’m a little bit obsessed!

Let me know which outfit was your favourite in the comments down below! I’m such a sucker for a casual combo so I think that the first outfit with the patchwork denim skirt is my fave (I’m completely obsessed with my string bag too!) I’m heading home to Canada for two weeks during June and July so I can’t promise that my outfits are gonna be very glam (I’m not going to be throwing on my best getup for a trip to Swiss Chalet!) However I will try my best to get some pics of some of the things that I’ll be wearing over the next few weeks. I hope you guys enjoyed the second instalment in my Instagram outfit series! Make sure you catch up on the last Insta Outfits post here! Oh and don’t forget to follow me on my actual Instagram to see my outfits as I post them!
