It’s no secret that I’m a bit of a hoarder when it comes to fragrances. I know loads of people who only ever wear one scent, but with so many beautiful perfumes out there I find it hard to stick to just the one! I find it so much more fun to mix up my fragrances and smell completely different everyday! I tend to chop and change my perfumes with the seasons; during the Winter months I’ll usually opt for something spicy and warm, but during the Summer I like to wear a spritz of something delicate and floral. I get a lot of comments from you guys asking me to talk about some of the fragrances in my collection, so I thought I’d put together a post about some of my fave perfumes for Summer. I find it super hard to write about perfumes in a way that does them justice but I promise to try my hardest to describe them as accurately as I can!

First up I have to talk about ‘Lazy Sunday Morning’ which is one of the fragrances in the Replica collection by Maison Margiela. For me, this fragrance smells like ACTUAL Summer! Lazy Sunday Morning is a floral fragrance with notes of pear, iris, rose absolute, orange flower and Indian patchouli oil to name but a few. Although you’ll find these sorts of notes in tons of other perfumes, I’ve never smelt anything quite like this one. It’s warm, clean and luxurious. This is my ultimate Summer fragrance for sure. (P.s. It also comes in a rollerball version which is super handy for on the go!)

Chanel fragrances aren’t something I tend to talk about all that often but No5 L’Eau (the lighter version called L’eau) is without doubt one of my favourite perfumes in my collection and it’s also one that I reach for tons during the Summer. On first impressions No5 L’Eau has a crisp, citrus edge to it which is thanks to the notes of lemon, mandarin and orange, but once this perfume has settled into the skin you can really start to smell the delicate floral scents of rose, jasmine and ylang ylang. Like every other Chanel fragrance, No5 L’Eau is a really modern take on the classic No. 5 which always turns heads (and noses).

If you’re as obsessed with rose scents as I am then you neeeed to try the Diptyque L’Ombre Dans L’Eau Eau De Parfum because I guarantee after a spritz or two of this you’ll smell like an actual English rose garden. For me, the Diptyque L’Ombre is the ultimate floral fragrance in my collection; its notes of delicate Bulgarian Rose and sweet Blackcurrant come together with a woody base note to create something out of this world. Diptyque have such a stunning collection of fragrances to their name, but for me, this one really steals the show. It’s fresh, fruity and floral. I LOVE it.

Most of you have probably come to realise that I’m a big fangirl when it comes to Tom Ford fragrances. One of my all time favourites is ‘Mandarino Di Amalfi’ which was concocted to capture the true essence of the Italian coastline. If you’re looking for a scent which SCREAMS Summer then Mandarino Di Amalfi is the one for you. Whenever I wear this perfume I can almost hear the waves crashing against the rocks and feel the sand between my toes…almost. It has a fresh and zingy citrus punch to it thanks to its notes of grapefruit and lemon which work perfectly with its deep base notes of vetiver, amber and musk. I’m really bad at describing scents but try to imagine laying on an idyllic Italian beach while sipping a mojito under a lemon tree…THAT’S how Mandarino Di Amalfi smells. Sounds good right?

Most of you know by now that I’m a liiiiittle bit obsessed with Linda Rodin and her incredible cosmetic collection, so when a parcel arrived in my mail with the Rodin ‘Olio Lusso’ 3 Eau De Toilette nestled inside, my excitement levels hit the roof. This perfume is BEAUTIFUL. The fragrance itself is a classic spicy geranium scent (right up my street) with notes of jasmine grandiflora, ylang ylang and orris. On first sniff you’re hit by the delicate floral scent, but sniff a little deeper and you’ll start to smell the deep base notes of patchouli and santal which give it it’s gorgeous musky edge. This is a really grown up scent and something that I tend to save for special occasions. It’s completely unique and the gorgeous floral notes make it perfect for Summer. Love it!

‘Untitled’ by Byredo is one of my favourite Byredo scents thanks to its unusual notes of pink pepper, gin, moss, pine and evergreen trees. Although none of those notes really scream ‘Summer’ to me, there’s something about that earthy, green scent that makes wearing this perfume in the sunshine seem ever more fitting. What’s cool about ‘Untitled’ is that it was actually left nameless so that the wearer can choose a name that they believe captures the true essence of the scent. If you purchase a bottle of this perfume it actually comes with a set of alphabet stickers so that you can emblazon your own chosen name upon it. Cool right?! Other Byredo scents that I love for Summer are ‘Rose of No Man’s Land’ which has notes of raspberry blossom and turkish rose petals, as well as ‘Gypsy Water’ which has notes of lemon, incense and sandalwood. I pretty much adore every scent by Byredo but ‘Untitled’ stands out as a favourite for me.

I hope I managed to describe these gorgeous fragrances in a way that did them some justice! Let me know if you enjoyed this post, maybe I could make this a seasonal thing…what do you think? I’m completely obsessed with discovering new perfumes so definitely leave me a comment and let me know if there are any scents that you think I need to try!
