TRAVELLING LIGHT AS A SKINCARE JUNKIE!

31st Jul 2017 - Beauty

I’m going to be spending a lot of time travelling over the Summer (Aslan and I are road tripping around British Columbia next week!) so I need to be able to travel as light as I possibly can. As a skincare junkie, travelling light is something that doesn’t come all that easy to me. The idea of spending weeks away from my favourite masks and essences doesn’t exactly make me want to jump for joy, so this Summer I’ve made it my mission to get myself super duper organised and find a way to bring all of my fave skincare products along with me without the extra kilos in my suitcase! A couple of weeks back I filmed a video all about the tips and tricks that I’ve been using to pack light with my skincare. Since so many of you guys told me how much you enjoyed the video I thought I’d put together a little something for my blog too. For any of you skincare junkies who thought that ‘travelling light’ was an impossible task…just you wait! I’m about to blow your mind!

A couple of weeks back I spent my evening scouring Amazon for some cute containers for all of my lotions and potions and I actually found some really cute stuff! First up I found this handy pink pouch which may look quite small but it’s actually deceivingly roomy! There’s some mesh pockets within the wash bag which means that you can create categories for all of your skincare stuff, I split mine into sections for face, body, treatments and extras. Not only that but it also comes with a cute little wallet which is ideal for keeping things like hair bands and bobby pins inside. Sticking to the theme, I picked up a set of pretty pink containers which came in super useful. Within the set you get 2 flip cap bottles, 1 spray bottle (great for decanting your face mists into!), 1 pump bottle and 2 little jars (perfect for lip balms!). I also picked up another set of acrylic containers and got quiiiite down and dirty with a label maker LOL! It’s no secret that I’m quite high maintenance when it comes to my skincare but it actually felt really freeing to have all of my beauty products in one pouch! I can totally see myself travelling like this with my skincare for future trips. I actually cannot believe how many products I managed to take with me!

First up I decanted my favourite Antipodes Juliet Skin Brightening Cleanser into one of the cute little pink pump bottles. I love the Juliet Cleanser because it feels so light and refreshing on my face and it’s packed with gorgeous ingredients like New Zealand Kiwi Super Fruit and Manuka Honey. I just feel like this is the perfect cleanser for Summer so I just had to find a way to bring this baby away with me. I couldn’t resist making use of the spray bottle in my container set so I decided to bring the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist along for the ride. I love using mists all year round but especially in the Summer time since they’re so hydrating and help to give me a refreshing boost during the hot weather. For my day cream I brought my favourite Lancôme Hydra Zen Anti Stress Moisturising Rich Cream which is fab because it really helps to hydrate my dry skin and it also has SPF 30. I love this stuff!

You all know that I’m such a face mask girl, so of course I had to save some room in my wash bag to bring along some of my favourite skincare treatments. The Fresh Rose Face Mask is one of the masks that I use the most during the Summer because it’s so light and refreshing and really helps to give my skin the surge of hydration that it craves. I also made it my mission to bring an exfoliating mask (I chose the Pai AHA Mask for this) as well as a deep cleansing treatment (the Fresh Umbrian Clay Mask). I still had some room left in my wash bag so I stuffed in some of my favourite sheet masks like the Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask and the Minon Amino Moist Mask as well as some extras such as the Institut Esthederm Lift & Repair Eye Contour Patches which help to banish my dark circles and illuminate the area around my eyes.

The products that I’ve mentioned in this blog post are only a few of the skincare items that I brought along with me to the beach! As you can see in the pic above I packed TONS of my favourite skincare products, so definitely make sure you watch the video below to see what else I managed to fit in my cute pink wash bag! Let me know if you’re a skincare junkie, I’d love to know whether I’ve inspired you to travel light on your Summer holidays! Also if you have any tips or tricks for packing light then please let me know in the comments down below. I had way too much fun decanting all of my products into their containers so I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for some more unique ways to travel with my skincare.
