LET'S TALK ABOUT FRESH

19th Oct 2017 - Beauty
As you can imagine, I’ve tried a lot of beauty brands in my time on YouTube. Over the years I’ve fallen in and out of love with products on a daily basis but a brand that has stood the test of time in my skincare collection is Fresh. If you’re a regular here on my blog or YouTube channel, you will probably have heard me talk about Fresh products *quite* a bit and that’s because Fresh is genuinely one of my favourite skincare brands of all time. The thing that I love the most about Fresh is that all of their products are formulated with natural ingredients; my favourite face mask for instance is jam packed with REAL rose petals (!!!) Fresh are a brand that really care about the ingredients that they’re putting into their products and that’s something I really admire. For this post I thought I’d talk you through some of the products from the brand that I’ve been using (and loving) for years; the ones that play a constant part in my daily skincare routines and Sunday spa nights! This post isn’t sponsored or anything, I just felt like showing some love to a brand that have been caring for my skin for many years.

Bath & Shower

I love pretty much everything that Fresh have ever invented but I must admit I’m a real sucker for their bath and shower products. A product that I’ve been using and loving for YEARS is the Brown Sugar Body Polish. To me, the Brown Sugar Body Polish is basically my idea of the ULTIMATE exfoliator. What I love about this stuff is that it’s incredibly nourishing (something which is rare to find in an exfoliator!) and that’s all down to the dreamy blend of citrus oils, precious oils and REAL brown sugar crystals which help to buff away dead skin cells and prevent moisture loss all at the same time. I’m also a die hard fan of their bath and shower gels (in particular the scent Hesperides Grapefruit which smells super fresh and zingy) as well as their Lemon Sugarbath Cubes which I’ll pop into the tub whenever I fancy giving myself a little bath time treat. I’m not the biggest fan of bath bombs (IKR who isn’t!?) but these Sugarbath Cubes are an exception to my rule. I find that some bath bombs can irritate my sensitive skin and the reason that I’m so crazy about these Fresh cubes is because they’re jam packed with kind-to-skin ingredients like avocado oil, honey and brown sugar. These ones also smell like actual lemon sherbet candies (!!!!!)

The Fresh Shaving Cream is a bath time product that I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned here on my blog and that’s because it’s quite new to me. The reason I’ve fallen head over heels for the Fresh Shaving Cream is because it helps to give me a really clean shave, protects against razor irritation AND keeps my skin feeling silky smooth all at the same time…magic! The formula is packed with dreamy ingredients such as sal seed butter which helps to soften and nourish, alongside meadowfoam seed, grape seed and olive fruit oils which give the skin a surge of hydration. This stuff is really great and hydrating. Highly recommend!

A product that I’m pretty sure you’ve all heard me fangirl over is the Fresh Umbrian Clay Purifying Treatment BarWhen I first discovered this treatment bar I was a little sceptical…surely something that’s made purely from 100% clay would only dry my skin out, right? Wrong! The Umbrian Clay Treatment Bar works as a deep cleanser and instant detoxifying mask for the body and face and its also super duper nourishing. Its high-mineral content neutralises acidity on the skin which purifies and clarifies the complexion. Lev, the co-founder of Fresh once told me that after doing a ton of research on different types of clay, the Fresh team discovered that Umbrian Clay was the only type which didn’t completely dry out the skin or leave it feeling desperate for moisture. I’ve been using this treatment bar for months now and I absolutely adore it, Lev was totally right, this stuff works wonders on my dry skin! Try it for yourself and see if you love it as much as I do.

For The Face

Onto my favourite bit…the skincare! I’ve tried a ton of different skin care products over the years but Fresh are a brand that have stood the test of time in my skincare collection. I’ve suffered with dry and sensitive skin for as long as I can remember and the thing that keeps me loyal to Fresh is that their products are always super gentle and kind to my face. I’m gonna kick things off by quickly mentioning one of my favourite Fresh skincare products, the Sugar Face Polish! Much like the Brown Sugar Body Polish, this facial exfoliator is great at buffing away nasty dead cells, but also does an amazing job at nourishing my skin. I tend to go for chemical exfoliators but sometimes I feel like I need a physical scrub. As soon as I wash away the product from my face I can see that my complexion looks brighter and more radiant.

If you’re on the look out for a new kind-to-skin cleanser in your life then I cannot recommend the Fresh Soy Cleanser enough! I like to use this as my ‘second cleanse’ during my evening skincare routine because it’s really great at dissolving any leftover scraps of makeup or dirt (even stubborn mascara!) It’s a gel cleanser so it’s super silky to use and always leaves my skin feeling soft, supple and refreshed. I’ll usually take a little bit of product onto my finger tips and massage it in circular motions over my wet skin. Whenever I use this stuff I’m always so amazed at how hydrated my skin feels. I’m also totally in love with the Rose Deep Hydration Toner (yes, this is JUST as amazing as my favourite Rose Face Mask!) This toner is great for removing impurities from your skin and helps you to achieve a softer-feeling and healthier-looking complexion. If you go as crazy for all-things-rose as I do then you also need to give the Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream a whirl. This is a super lightweight cream packed with dreamy ingredients like rosewater and plum seed oil which gives your skin a layer of moisture that lasts all day. I LOVE it.

The amazing Crème Ancienne is a Fresh collection that I’ve recently found myself falling more and more in love with. The Crème Ancienne collection is slightly more of a premium range, but in this case I think the extra few pennies are totally worth it. Each of the Crème Ancienne products contain super fragile ingredients which must be mixed in a particular sequence, at a specific dose and at a determined temperature. This level of precision, attention to detail and scientific knowledge creates the ultimate age-delay treatment. If that wasn’t enough to get your jaws dropping, every product in this collection is hand-poured by ACTUAL monks in a monastery. Essentially what I’m trying to say here is that this collection is pretty much a work of art. I’ve been using the original Crème Ancienne for the past few months and I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing my skin has been looking and feeling since I’ve been applying this stuff. It’s extremely nourishing but incredibly lightweight at the same time. I also love the Elixir Ancienne which is prrrreeettyyy pricey but works to give my face a surge of moisture like nothing else. This range is incredible and I’m excited to explore more of the products within it! I feel like this stuff *might* just be magic…

Speaking of hydrating…if dry skin is something that you suffer with you need to try the Fresh Seaberry Face OilI know a lot of people are quite dubious when it comes to using face oils and before I started using oils in my everyday routine I used to feel exactly the same! Nowadays, my skincare regime doesn’t feel complete until I’ve locked in a layer of moisture with something like this Fresh face oil. Seaberry oil is a powerful antioxidant rich in moisturising omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9, all of which are known for doing a great job at protecting the skin from the effects of aging and damaging free radicals. After cleansing I’ll take a couple of drops onto my finger tips before working the oil into my face using circular motions. Highly recommend!

Face Masks

Most of you will know by now that I’ve been obsessed with Fresh face masks for YEARS! I literally love every single one of the masks in their collection and use them all on a regular basis. I talk about the Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask quite often and I’ve also mentioned the Rose Face Mask a few times (ok literally all the time) but I’m also loyal to the Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Mask, the Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask and the Crème Ancienne Ultimate Nourishing Honey Mask (to name but a few). It’s hard for me to pick a favourite because they all do totally different things to your skin, but I  do lurrrrve the Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Mask a whole lot! This mask is actually a concentrated fruit paste of crushed oranges, lemons and clementines which all work hard to gently exfoliate and smooth the skin. With the citrus fruit comes VITAMINS and within this mask are heaps of Vitamins C, E and B5 which all help to give your complexion a gorgeous, radiant glow. This stuff is as good as it sounds and that’s why it’s one of my go-to masks in my collection. You will LOVE it!

I don’t tend to mention the Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask all that often but it’s one that I’ll use around once or twice a week. Within the mask is black tea ferment which is actually a natural antioxidant that helps to defend against wrinkle-causing free radicals while softening and smoothing the feel of your skin. It’s also packed with lovely stuff like lychee seed extract which helps to maintain the skin’s elasticity, alongside jicama root which is known for its hydrating and nourishing properties. If you liked the sound of the Crème Ancienne range then you need to try the Ultimate Honey Nourishing Mask because it’s pretty much the definition of dreamy! This mask is made with PURE honey (it smells incredible) and gives your skin a huuuuuuge surge of moisture that lasts from morning till’ night. Like I said it’s so hard for me to pick a favourite mask from the Fresh collection but the Crème Ancienne Ultimate Nourishing Honey Mask is one that I’m really falling for. Fresh masks are AMAAAAZING!!

Minatures

Something that I recently discovered about Fresh is that they actually do mini versions of a lot of their products (I’m way too excited about this!!) If you watched my ‘Travelling Light as a Skincare Junkie’ video you’ll know that I like to bring all of my favourite products with me whenever I travel, so as soon as I saw the teeny weeny face mask pots and sugar scrubs on the website I couldn’t resist picking some up! Although I had way too much fun with my label maker back in the Summer, decanting all of my lotions in potions into plastic tubs was quite the task, so I’m definitely going to be taking some of these mini products in my suitcase next time Aslan and I go away somewhere. I decided to stock up on mini versions of the Sugar Face Polish, Rose Face Mask and Vitamin Nectar Mask. Each of these pots contain 30ml of product so they’re ideal to pop in your hand luggage. LOVE IT!!

Fragrance

I thought I’d finish things up by talking about a couple of the Fresh products that I’ve become most excited about recently! The other week Fresh invited me along to a beautiful breakfast event to tell me a little bit more about some of the stunning fragrances in their collection. You all know by now that I’m a bit of a hoarder when it comes to fragrances so i was super excited to try out some of their scents! The first fragrance that I ended up falling in love with is the Hesperides Grapefruit Eau De Parfum. Citrus perfumes aren’t usually my thing but as soon as I smelt the zingy grapefruit I was hooked! After you’ve sprayed this onto your skin you’ll instantly smell the fresh top notes of Italian lemon, mandarin and grapefruit and after a while you’ll start to get a feel for the depth of the scent through the bottom notes of peach, rhubarb and musk. It smells as delicious as it sounds!

I also picked up the Cannabis Santal Eau De Parfum which is a completely different kind of scent! The Cannabis Santal is a warm, woody fragrance and is exactly the kind of thing I love to wear during the colder months. Mixed with its top notes of bergamot, zingy orange and black plum are mid notes of earthy patchouli and cannabis. The bottom notes are a dreamy mix of chocolate, vetiver and vanilla musk. I’ve only used this fragrance a couple of times but each time I’ve worn it I’ve had someone ask me what perfume I’m wearing. This is wonderfully unique scent and one that I’ll be reaching for a lot over the coming months. (I’m also pretty sure Aslan will be stealing a spritz of this too!)

I hope you guys enjoyed learning a little bit more about one of my favourite beauty brands. I’ve been using (and raving about!) Fresh products for years and I’m pretty sure I’m still going to be just as obsessed with their stuff when I’m 90 years old! Dryness and sensitivity is something that I’ve suffered with for years and thanks to their natural ingredients, Fresh is a brand that I can always rely on to be kind and gentle on my skin. If you’re a fan of Fresh I would love to know what your all time favourite Fresh product is! If this brand is new to you then definitely go and check out their products > here <

    • Aw thanks Holly! So glad you enjoyed it! I would 100% recommend the Umbrian Clay Bar, it does an amazing job at lasts for ages! Let me know what you think of it 🙂

  • I live in Sweden and we don’t have Fresh here, but I’m really anxious to try it out, especially the rose mask and the seaberry oil! I think the brand would go over well here since “natural” beauty is popular in Sweden, but for now it doesn’t look like they’ll be launching here anytime soon.

PS. I don’t really care for bath bombs either. Oils and salts are much nicer imo!

  • I’ve heard you talk about Fresh products in the past. I’d love to try them. Fresh, come to Argentina!
